On July 27th at 15:10 our volunteers were called to the scene of an injured mountain biker, who had crashed at high speed while downhill mountain biking in the Afan Forest area.
He suffered head and abdominal injuries, however his head injuries could have been much worse but thankfully he was wearing a properly fitted helmet.
The casualty was immobilised and stretchered to the nearest road where he was handed over to our colleagues at Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust, who then transported the casualty for further medical attention at hospital. We wish him a speedy recovery! #WesternBeaconsMRT#Emergency#Charity
